My love affair with

sewing began when I was

11 years old after becoming a

4-H member. My 4-H instructor

took me under her wing for two

years and was instrumental in

teaching me to fine tune the

outside of my garments.

During my high school years my home economics teachers

(with the most influential being Ms Elliot and Ms Eckler at Perry Junior High) helped me hone my skills for the inside of my garments.

As often happens during adolescence I became distracted by other loves. Family, dance, theater and bodybuilding took a front seat in my life. After these things came and passed I found myself dusting off my sewing machines, wandering through fabric stores and losing track of time. I was hooked again with the end result being, “The Fruit Thereof.”
